Fall 2026 Ship Dates

(Orders placed after 6/10/2026)

If you place your order after we have completed shipping to your region we will ship your order out within 5-10 business days.

Mycorrhizae is a beneficial soil fungus that grows on the roots of your trees and helps them take up water and nutrients more effectively. Similar to inoculating plants like beans and peas prior to planting. If you select this option we will include a packet of mycorrhizae granules with your trees. Just sprinkle in the hole prior to planting and you're good to go. We don't plant anything here at the farm without using it ourselves!

When you buy from us you can rest assured that you're going to end up with a healthy growing tree come spring. We guarantee that all our trees will emerge from dormancy so you don't have to worry about spending your money on something that may or may not bud out come spring. Just follow the recommendations in our planting instructions and your tree is covered.

You must protect your trees with one of our tree tubes for this guarantee to apply.

The #1 food source for deer and the #1 choice if you're looking to start a chestnut orchard! Whitetail Hill is your source for the best hybrid chestnuts available. Seeds used for our trees come from mature parent trees that have been selectively bred to have the best traits for both wildlife and orchard production.

If we had to recommend just one tree that we think every landowner should consider planting it would be our hybrid chestnuts. Chestnuts provide excellent nutrition, unmatched drawing power, are easy to grow, and are one of the fastest producing trees you can plant with production starting in just 2-5 years.

Chestnuts have extremely high drawing power for deer. They contain large amounts of carbs that help deer pack on fat stores ahead of winter and provide bucks with the needed energy for the rut.

Our hybrid chestnuts are also the absolute best choice if you're looking to start an orchard. They are fantastic for human consumption and are the same variety grown by most commercial chestnut growers. If you're interested in learning more about starting an orchard see our article here: Growing Chestnuts as a Cash Crop

Chestnuts have several advantages over oaks: Unlike many oaks chestnuts produce every year giving you a consistent food source you can count on year after year. Also unlike oaks, they contain no tannins. This gives them a sweet flavor that deer love. In fact, some studies have shown deer prefer chestnuts by as much as 100:1 over acorns. Deer absolutely love chestnuts and if your goal is to draw and hold deer on your land, you'll love chestnuts too. They simply can't be beat for attracting deer. Chestnuts are also attractive to other wildlife such as turkeys, raccoons, squirrels, and black bears.

Our trees are fast growing and will reach 6-8ft tall by the end of the next growing season under good conditions. They will produce nuts within 2-5 years making them one of the fastest producing wildlife tree plantings available. Mature trees can produce 100lbs of nuts per year, creating a huge food resource that will draw deer for miles around.

You must protect your trees with one of our Tree Tubes to be covered under our Survival Guarantee. Please read the full details here.

Got my “late drop” chestnuts planted, I was very happy with the way they were packaged roots were moist and the quality of the trees was good. Planted among some trees from last year in hopes of creating a stand of chestnuts in the middle of the farm.

Unfortunately my American chestnuts and my regular drop persimmons all died within weeks after planting. This was strange compared to how well the late drop chestnuts and persimmons did in the same plot and under all the other same conditions.

Great stock when they arrived, I was able to get them in the ground as soon as I received them. My soil is very sandy here and we haven’t had much rain since June, now being the end if July it’s extremely dry, but the tree still look sharp. I will get more for sure.

All the Chestnuts come out of dormancy in 1-3 days. All started at 2-3ft and are growing rapidly. I expect most to clear the 4ft tubes by fall

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Bought 20 Chestnuts looks like 80 percent taking trees came good it's just the small ones not gonna make it

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Not knowing I was expecting live trees in the mail my wife put a hold on the mail delivery, this delayed the delivery of the trees for four or five days. The temperature reached close to 90 one of those days. I never expected the bare root trees to survive. I planted them the same day they arrived and they have done great! (all seven) Whatever you do to get these trees ready to ship is amazing. I'm 73 years old, I hope I'm still around to see these trees make chestnuts. Thank you!

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

I received my trees and was able to get them planted within a couple of days. They have about 8 inches of new growth and are doing great. A couple of the will probably be over the tree tubes next year!

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Very thankful for the easy directions and more thankful for the quick communication responses when I had some detail questions! I could send pictures as well, but it only allowed either pictures or video. Thank you very much. So far, all seven trees are doing great.

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Trees arrived in great shape. If only they would’ve come with a big fluorescent flag attached so I wouldn’t have accidentally ran one over with my brush mower a month after I planted them lol. Oh well, just have to get more next spring I guess. Live and learn. 🤷‍♂️

Hybrid Chestnut

My trees arrived in good shape, were planted and all leaved out. They all seem to be doing great at this point!

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Three out of four trees were great. The fourth didn’t make it but I was reimbursed with a store credit. The trees were wrapped exceptionally and so far are doing great growing. I would definitely purchase additional trees at some point.

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Trees came on time and were packaged very well, they seem to be growing great! The tube part is not user friendly, difficult to put together. I didn’t realize I would need zip ties and stakes for the tubes, which meant another trip into town and expense. Trees are doing very well and I do recommend the tubes.

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer photo review of Hybrid Chestnut

Planted both of these trees May 18th. The shorter one has filled out well but hasn't added much height. But the other is now out the top of the tube. Very happy with the results and will definitely be buying more next year!

Hybrid Chestnut

Eight trees and they are all doing great. They are all around three feet tall and healthy.

Hybrid Chestnut

Customer video review of Hybrid Chestnut

Planted 6 of these and they are growing like wildfire!

Hybrid Chestnut

Trees arrived promptly in the Spring as promised last Fall. ProGrow tubes are definitely worth the money. Only suggestion I have is maybe give us “newbies” more direction after planting to help give us the best outcome for the trees. Simple emails would suffice giving us tips, what we can expect on growth stages. All in all, you guys are professionals and doing a great job! Don Padget 7/2/26
