Our Whitetail Hill Deer Pears™ are our favorite fruit tree for deer. They're a highly adaptable pear that's extremely easy to grow, heavy bearing, and absolutely irresistible to deer. Whitetail Hill Deer Pears™ are descendants of wild pears like the ones you often find growing on old homesteads throughout the country. The fact that they are able to do well in these conditions are a testament to their hardiness and survivability. Whitetail Hill Deer Pears™ bear heavy crops of large fruits prized by deer and other wildlife. These trees can survive on their own in the woods for decades with little or no care and still produce heavy crops of pears that become destinations for the local deer herd. You'll often see deer visiting them daily to clean up the latest fallen fruit. Bucks have even been known to protect pear trees while fruit is dropping. Pears really are a favorite for deer and they're about as easy to grow as you can get. They bear young, usually at just 3-6 yrs and grow very fast. Drop time varies slightly from tree to tree but typically falls from Aug-Nov. These are some of the very best pears you'll find for deer and are one of our favorites.
